Significance and History of Tattooing:

Ever wondered how tattoo trend started and what was the exact reason behind it? Does tattooing have any advantages? Yes tattooing has been described as painting, scarring or staining then. Tattooing happens when inedible ink is inserted to the dermis layer to change the skin colour permanently with the help of a needle.

The latest tattoo trend currently running is the Yantra tattooing, also called as the sak yant, it is a form of tattooing which is practiced in the Southeast Asian countries mainly in Thailand. The practice has also begun to grow immensely popular among everyone these days. Sak means "tapping [tattoo]", and yant is called in Thai for the Sanskrit word yantra. Sak yant designs are tattooed by Buddhist monks, traditionally with a long bamboo stick or alternatively with a long metal spike.

Many tattoos marks status and rank, symbolises religious, spiritual devotion, decorations for bravery, pledges of love, punishment, talismans, protection. The impact of tattoos differs in various places and cultures. The yantra tattoo is used for protection against evil and to increase luck. It is believed that in Philippines certain tribal groups believe that tattoos have miraculous qualities and help to protect. In older days tattoo were used by women as a part of beautifying themselves. There are many tattoos that were done in order to protect a person from illness in ancient times. It may be skin deep, but their significance is deeper. There are several places, from roadside stalls to sections in classy malls; you should be cautious where you get inked. Choose a place which is hygienic, where the designers are skilful and the ones making the tattoo.
